Police release video from Arizona mall shooting

Police have released video recordings of the shooting incident at a Phoenix-area shopping mall earlier this month.

The Arizona Republic says the soundless surveillance recordings released Thursday show customers running and employees ducking to safety as officers responding to reports of gunshots entered the shopping center with weapons drawn.

Police released 911 tapes last week that captured scared voices of shoppers and employees calling for help in the Jan. 5 incident at Chandler Fashion Center.

There were no reported injuries although the mall was locked down for nearly five hours with more than 200 shoppers inside.

Authorities say 27-year-old Adam Armando Hernandez is believed to have fired at two officers at the mall before running into a restaurant. He later surrendered and remains jailed on a $1 million bond.
