DETROIT – A federal judge in Detroit has told the government to release a computer disc containing more than 30,000 names allegedly linked to an international prostitution ring.
Judge Arthur Tarnow ordered the names given to the attorney for a Florida man charged with conspiring to commit crimes related to prostitution. Prosecutors say Greg Carr ran a business that set up trysts in many large U.S. cities along with Mexico, Colombia and Costa Rica.
The judge told Carr's attorney Friday that he can't copy the list, make printouts or share information with anyone other than Carr.
Prosecutors say they fear the information could be used to harass people. Carr's attorney insists he's entitled to the disc under rules of evidence.
Carr's ex-wife and an office manager have pleaded guilty in the case.
