BOSTON -- A Boston man described by prosecutors as a drug dealer has been convicted of gunning down a rival he thought was undercutting his prices.
Garrett Jackson of Boston was sentenced on Tuesday in Suffolk Superior Court to life in prison after he was found guilty of first-degree murder, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and unlawfully carrying a loaded firearm.
Authorities say Jackson gunned down Tommy Speed in the hallway of a housing development in February 2009.
Prosecutors say Jackson was angry that Speed was undercutting his prices.
