Arguments Under Way in Drew Peterson Hearing

OTTAWA, Ill. -- Attorneys have begun presenting arguments in an appellate hearing on evidence in Drew Peterson's upcoming murder trial.

For the first time in Illinois history, the Third District Appellate Court is allowing Wednesday's oral arguments to be broadcast live.

Following a request by Chicago's WGN-TV, media outlets are sharing a video feed from a single camera in the back of the Ottawa courtroom.

The two sides are arguing over prosecutors' efforts to admit 13 so-called hearsay statements at the 57-year-old former Bolingbrook police officer's trial for the murder of his third wife, Kathleen Savio. Peterson remains a suspect in the disappearance of his fourth wife, Stacy Peterson, but has not been charged.

Peterson is not present at the hearing.
